Interior colours and inspirations

 

Last week I stumbled upon this amazing interior designer's Instagram page- Elsie Lapelerie Designs. She is an interior designer and artist based in Perth, Western Australia.

I really loved her colour schemes and mood boards- a fun, playful retro look for home and interiors. Well, I gathered some courage to ask her if I could use her colour palettes to recolour some of my print designs. And to my amazement, she instantly agreed for it. She is a gem of a person to talk to. Very sweet and kind!

I have recoloured some of my works (and very old work too!) using her colour palettes.

The top most image is very very old, created sometime in 2014 (yeah, that's what is called vintage!). I created it for my online shop Kessinhouse. It was among the best sellers. 

Ideal for wallpapers and flooring, this vintage-floral-motif print would look fablous as kitchen tiles too. Recoloured in Elsie's eye-catching Gold and Navy colour palette.

My love for the colour Blue with all it's shades and hues is not a secret anymore with you. :)

Mediterranean Charm, a name I gave to this 'daring tones of teal, chartreuse and mint', as Elsie describes it. I used this gorgeous palette to recolour my Indian-Rangoli-Style motif design.

Novelty, a party colour palette in iridescent colours, giving a shimmery glowing look.

I love the way recolouring gives new life to the old prints and patterns, and changes the look and feel of it completely. I hope you loved it too!
