And... I walked it!
Yes. For the first time ever! And, it was MAGICAL!!! It was totally a different feeling to meet the designers in person, (whom otherwise I have only 'seen and read about' in interior magazines and blogs). Their work, their brilliant ideas behind those home and interior concepts and projects.
''India Design ID, the country’s best luxury design week, held every February at New Delhi’s NSIC Grounds in Okhla.... the largest congregation of the best in design, architecture and interiors. A five-day exhibition, the India Design ID, witnesses specially-curated displays and signature collections across furniture, lighting, interiors, kitchens, accessories, flooring and home technology from the most stylish and talked-about local and international brands in the industry.''
I, as you know, have a deep love for home and interiors. I like to create prints for home furnishing and wallpapers, etc. and so THIS show was an eye-opener for me.
To touch and feel the materials - wood, glass, stones, ceramics, paper, fibers, fabrics and so much more. From outdoor planters and luxurious furniture to indoor rugs, wallpapers and dining- it was a feast for all the senses. A mix of both worlds- traditionally hand-crafted to contemporary and modern - it was a bliss to see the signature styles of the best designers of our country and abroad.
Though I missed the Symposium program this year, I'll definitely try to attend it next year.
Everything was just fabulous- the curated booths of all the exhibitors, the upcoming trends by Asian Paints, and meeting Mr. Sunil Sethi ji (Chairman FDCI, New Delhi)... eeeep, I met him in person!
It was a great experience.
Thank you 'ID- India Design' for such a wonderful show, and thank you to all the amazing exhibitors...
See you all soon, next year!
