patterns and repeats .....

                               A few patterns and repeats , this week .


                         Starting with this simple egg - shape design , and converting it into something more dense with repeats and also by reducing the size too ...

                         I made this one ages ago but couldn't post at that time --- a good time now , may be ! Only one design in three different colours . Which one is you favourite colour ???

                           I love this one .... , WHY  ???  I don't know , seriously . May be because of the colours or the pattern ...  Well , whatever the reason ,  I simply enjoyed making this one , and enjoying the results too !

                   Soft , delicate and lovely flowers ,

                    This one was also made ( or rather experimented ) ages ago ... posted quite late . Hmmm ... I was thinking of making some more patterns to post altogether , so these old designs had to wait .

                 Cute flowers  repeated and repeated and repeated as borders ...

                    Fun moments end up in these patterns ! Working on only one circle made me think of making it more and more , and in different colour combinations too .... Ended up in waves of endless circles in layers ,

                      Today's post is all about eye candy , ethnic and traditional designs and motifs --- all revisited and re-made to give a contemporary touch !


                     The top most picture is a dress yoke to be embroidered or painted ... ( I've already posted this on my facebook account ages ago ... ) .

          As I told you in my last week post that there will be prints and more prints , this August . So , keeping my promise , I have tried to make a few prints for  scarfs and hankies --- some square prints , hoping that you'll like these .

After thirty years...( part 1 )

   Hi to all the smiling eyes ,

                       '' After thirty years .....'' is not about a suspense thriller , yeah dear , nor is it about any murder mystery...! It is about some treasure which I borrowed from my mom , to share with you all ( aha ! the mystery ends here ) .

                  And , before I start to write anything concerning these designs , I must tell you all very honestly that these are  NOT my original works . As I earlier told you that these are all ' borrowed ' from my mom's collection .

                I know that many of you will find some of these designs still in your collection . These are from a magazine ''SOVIET NAARI '' ( 'naari ' means ' woman ' in Hindi ) A complete woman magazine of its time , covering all the issues , from cookery to stitching and knitting , from political to parenting and kids' crafts ...

                  A lovely magazine revisited . As I don't have many designs left , I'll share all that is left with me , in this post , and a few in my next posts as well . The designs are presented as it is , but I've only given them colours ...

            I know I love this doll... so cute ...

                  I myself embroidered this on my pillow case , ages ago...But now I think it will also look lovely on trays and especially on glass-painting...

                          As the heat is rising day by day , the demand to delve deep into cool things is growing too...So , today , i bring before you some cool colours to beat this scorching heat and also to bring some relief to your eyes....!
                          Some light and feathery ferns , dancing bamboos , overall floral , some floral patterns for embroidery as well as painting too. Prints for fabric and paper --- giving all the eyes the cool ice effect it needs....

                This week I present before you a collection containing lots and lots of oranges and browns .There's a nice and wide range of  applique works and embroidery patterns , some patterns for table mats and runners . Some for stamping and stencilling too . At one place there are applique works with some sequins added for a glitter and at the another , there are only for outlines and beads for sober and cool feel ....
