Fall in Love with Flowers!

  Okay, yes I know that the blog title is a bit dramatic, but I wanted to add everything in that- Fall, Love and Flowers- all my newest pattern collections...

So, some Shop Update: I added a bunch of new patterns in my shops. Some seasonal and some evergreen and timeless designs- Spring/Summer (bright florals), Autumn and Fall, Valentine/Love (though not actually a season), Boho Paisleys, and Kids & Baby pattern collection too.

Lovely Mandalas and Aztec print

Hello, everyone!

  It's quite a long time since I shared my life with you...

I created some new designs for Kess Inhouse. Beautiful Mandala designs in traditional Indian block-print style. Mandalas are everyone's favorite. I am loving the colors. You would have noticed that recently I have started using different color palettes. Amazing color combinations for an amazing look.

Chakra, the wheel (of life). It took me forever to create the design. The style was new, and so was the color palette. I wanted something different from what I had already created. Something really dense and yet beautiful. And, well, I think I did it, isn't it?

Some new designs with new colors --- Dreamy Aztec and Zigzag. While my Dreamy Aztec is a very busy print, Zigzag has simple line drawings.

Mandala Magic is the first in the series of mandala designs. I just love these colors and motifs, and everything. I think it will look great in another colorway too. I must try. What do you think?

Life with Lilla Rogers, Part-3

Hello lovelies!

       Last week I entered Lilla Rogers' Global Talent Search competition. The brief was super lovely and super fun. Lilla gave us a fictional character, Sunny Spindler, who owns a charming candy shop and café. Lilla asked the participants to design a teacup and napkin set for Sunny’s beautiful café -- teacup + saucer + napkin. She provided us with tons of inspiration and reference from photographs to get us motivated.

      Lilla gives the brief in such a descriptive way so that the readers can actually visualise the whole scene. She makes her readers go deep into the brief and enjoy the moments, play with the characters/or play the characters themselves, and then think about what the character would actually do in that situation.

     I first planned to make an elaborated tea set --- a tray containing a milk pot, sugar pot, biscuits and tea bags, etc. But then thought why only one tea set? If I am 'SUNNY' myself then I can't have only one type of tea cups for my customers. No way. I am a bohemian myself. I love mix and match things in my home. I never drink my 'masala chai' in the same tea cups/mug daily then why torture my customers??? NOPE!

    Then the Sunny in me created a 'Mix and Match' tea set for my cute shop. I think the customers would love to have their favourite tea served in these cups. Don't you think the same?

   The typography idea was from my daughter. Infact, my name in the above image is written by my 12 year old daughter! It looks so lovely there, and it goes perfectly with the overall mix 'n' match idea too.

Boho - reviving the past!

        How are you? Just thought of sharing with you some of my newest designs in Kessinhouse.

This geometrical design, 'Bright Squares in Blue', was originally made by my daughter 4 years ago, sometimes in June 2011! I love her designs very much. I thought of giving it a new life... I made this design in three different colour ways.

Now, while talking of going back in the past in search of some old designs, I found this paisley-shaped motifs in black and white. I added a few more details. Then tried out some candy colours to it too!
