''Life is crafty'' is all about surface pattern designs--- in fashion industry, in painting ( from fabric to glass, from oil to water colour... etc ), embroidery patterns ( which can be used in dresses as well as on any surface, such as bed covers to aprons... from border designs to necklines and overall repeat patterns...) giving a universal appeal to all the viewers...thankyou.
An interview with an artist, Maheswari Janarthanan, who is a dreamer, traveler, illustrator, designer, and photographer based in Chennai, India.
A self-taught illustrator, she wants to bring out her magical experiences in life through her art. Her love for the universe and the magical, miraculous, and mystical things hidden within every human being fascinate and inspire her to portray them in her drawings. Her desire and goal is to keep creating something that inspires people and herself.
Her imagination is mystical and different, and her works are mostly based on dreams, magic, love, life, and the universe.
She also creates products under the name “little one’s doodles”.
A simple girl with a dream to travel around the world and create art.

How would you describe yourself ?
What do you like to do when you are not painting ?
Eat, pray, love, read,travel.
Describe your style?
I would say free style. I like to change my style often. I am person who gets easily bored so I use different medium, experiment with different styles.
What's your favorite color ?
Blue, yellow, grey, orange and neon pink.
When did you get the idea that 'painting/art' was the thing you love ?
After quitting my full time job. Only after that I started illustrating and created things I really love.
Anything you want to share to your readers about setting up his/her own business ?
Go ahead and do what your heart says. Take risks. Make mistakes.
Tell us a bit about your biggest challenge in your career, and the
way you handled it ?
Explaining people what I do... that's the most difficult part ! They don't understand and keep asking why can't I go for a regular job. I just ignore and continue my work !
Your greatest inspiration is ?
How would you describe your work place?
The magic place--- where I spend most of my time dreaming and
creating. A room filled with lots of art, love, books and all beautiful
things that makes me happy and inspired.
