kids' choice .....

        Hi ,

Summer is near , and is the time when your kids are free from the exam fever and need a break ,  some fun time --- apart from their regular TV time ..... As a mother of two ( not-so-little ) daughters' , I've been busy thinking a few things about '' How to .... ''  keep them busy ----creatively !!!

                             Tough , isn't it ?

Well , let them make their own hanging mobiles to decorate the corners of  the house ...  A few pieces of coloured clothes , needle and thread ( to hand stitch --- with your help ) , and some cotton for filling ... and boom ! See the happiness on their faces !

So , go ahead and let them discover the craftiness in themselves ...

Draw these bell flowers on some bright - coloured cloth or paper ,  cut and paste them on a white or any light - coloured sheet of handmade paper , draw stems and tiny leaves . Get it framed , or slide it in your bed-side photo frame , change it when you make the next craft project ... This way you'll have a lot of creative things to display on the wall or at your side table ...!

These cute and bright birds will surely look good on your kids' room . Use the cut and paste technique or make stuffed soft birds in bright and contrast colours , make eyes out of tiny black beads and some laces to decorate the birds' body . Hang them on a twig , or make the kid roll some ribbon on a pencil , stick the both ends ! You can also put some small bells for a sweet sound too ...

The same way you can try these leaves too . Draw some leaves on a handmade paper or any other card sheet , and colour them . Cut them out leaving a little space to punch a hole on the top of each leaf . Hang them ( like the above mentioned way ) , put some small bells , if you like some music with the greenery !!!

The heart balloons can be embroidered ...

The same way embroider these flowers too . Or cut these flowers out of some magazine or  textured paper or cloth . Paste them on paper and draw the stems ... and if you're doing them on cloth then stitch or stick them , embroidering the stems !

Ooooh ! Lovely bird , isn't it ?  Add a few flowers ( like shown here ) to complete the cute look !

Have a nice crafty week ahead ..........

Try these crafts for sure and engage your kids with your '' US '' time together --- they'll love being with you and crafting with you . And yes , don't forget the popcorns and music ... Have fun .

                   see you next week .
